About Shalane

Shalane always wanted to sing, since she was little, singing Delta Dawn, like most young girls do. Shalane grew up in a little country church in East Texas.  Trying to sing at church, she was very timid, some would say shy, and not knowing the keys she was supposed to sing in, the solo would be very soft.   Finally, the day came where her volume and voice arrived!  Singing acapella allowed Shalane the control she needed to let her voice fly!

Shalane grew up like most Texas families loving and listening to Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Tanya Tucker, Tammy Wynette, Donnie and Marie, Cher, The Judd’s, just to name a few of her influences.  After high school she would travel to sing all over Houston area with Donnie Vondra and his band.  One of those bands included a Houston favorite, The Tejas Band.

Shalane moved to Alvin, Texas in 1994 and became a regular singer on The Alvin Opry.  She found herself on stage singing at other Opry’s, locally and across the state of Texas.

Taking time off to raise her son, Shalane slowed down the stage time, but you could still find her singing at church and The Opry when she had the chance.  Now that the children are older, it has allowed Shalane to get back to the stage.  You may find her at a local festival, singing for a wedding or traveling to the next honky-tonk.  She loves promoting country music and inspiring young singers to perform on stage. Singing is her passion and brings her so much joy. She is very excited to see what lies ahead!

Shalane is married to her husband Shane (who you may happen to see on the guitar) and three children, Dalton, Billy and Courtney.

"I’ve seen some amazing talent. She stands alone. Shalane is beautiful with a voice to match. She has a country voice in every sense of the word. It’s honest, it’s soulful and is classic. Her voice reminds you of southern sweet sun tea, summer sunshine and spending quality time on a porch swing. Everything good about the country life we love. She’s a true Alvin treasure." -Missy Brown
